Managed the Infrastructure and Security Project Management components merging 5 Data Centers into 3 total.
Completed: Ahead of Schedule
Runtime: 7 Months
Downtime: No unexpected Downtime outside of Change Control Windows
Project Components: 550+ total project tasks
This project was a result of a M&A. We had 2 colos and the acquiring company had 3 colos. Due Diligence and contract review was needed to decide how and what the timeline was for completion. The project was ran by a Project Manager that worked through the tasks of 3 separate teams (Networking, Software Dev and IT Infrastructure). My teams portion (IT Infrastructure) was 550+ tasks ensuring that hardware and vendors were in place for each step of the migration. During the migration process several hard decisions had to be made, at times in the middle of a migration at 3am. Though the project was vast, the team did a great job at research, simulating and verifying every step to ensure no to little impact on customer or users.
Individually ran email migration of 500 inboxes and shared mailboxes from one M365 Tenant to another.
Completed: Ahead of Schedule
Runtime: 2 months
Downtime: No unexpected Downtime outside of Change Control Windows
This project was the result of a M&A. After weeks of due diligence to understand the licensing and impact of moving one tenant to another we executed this project in several phases, ensuring that email would never stop working for our users. I utilized a 3rd Party platform to assist in the migration, but most of the difficult work had to be completed by writing powershell scripts to ensure certain tasks were completed within M365 and the hybrid Exchange Servers.
Worked with my team to deploy a new EDR/XDR platform on all endpoints and servers.
Completed: Ahead of Schedule
Runtime: 2 months
Downtime: Nothing noteworthy. Some issues with DLP that weren't noted during due diligence from the Finance Team
During my time as a Security Engineer there was a push to upgrade and test new security platforms. One of the big advancements was moving away from a personal version of AV and onto a robust EDR/XDR cloud based platform that included DLP, Web Protect (to retire Cisco) and Application Protection. Ultimately the vendor of choice became a Partner and we expanded their stack onto all facets of the network including our Firewalls.
Upgraded / Decommissioned 20 Production Servers and migrated legacy software to Server 2016
Completed: 2 Weeks Late
Runtime: 18 Months
Downtime: Nothing noteworthy. Issues regarding compatibility and vendor support that caused project to run over 2 week.
Coming into the company in 2017 it was my main task to streamline and standardize and security harden the virtual platform of aging and unsupported Server 2000, 2003 and 2008/R2 Servers. This involved due diligence of each underlying system and an in depth knowledge of the production platform.
Launched Teams Direct Routing internally using owned SBCs as well used experience to POC new revenue stream for business named BE-DIRECT https://www.bullseyetelecom.com/solutions/direct-routing/
Completed: Ahead of Schedule
Runtime: 3 Months
Internal Proof of Concept allowed for justification to work with product marketing to launch a new product for the company. This came after an initiative was handed down by senior leadership for each department to find untapped revenue streams. I am particularly proud of this achievement.
Streamlined Laptop imaging with MDT and Software Management with PDQ
Completed: No timeline
Runtime: 1 month
I discovered a gap in standardization and worked with the helpdesk team to create a golden image for Windows 10. The team was also "sneaker-netting" software around with a USB Drive which I later configured and trained the team at that time on PDQ for remote deployment.
Upgraded Core Production WorkFlow Platform
Completed: On Time
Runtime: 1 Month
One of the core production components was planned for upgrade in early 2018. Due to reasons prior to me joining the company the upgrade was put on hold due to prioritization. After weeks of due diligence with the Software Team and Vendor I drafted a actionable plan to upgrade the platform. This involved weeks of planning in UAT and DEV to ensure all the SmartObjects and Stored Procedures in SQL would function properly. We concurrently upgrades SQL 2008 to SQL 2014 at the same time. This project was executed overnight with all hands on board, a project plan and change control framework.
Migrated inboxes, ProxyAddresses and Contacts to O365
Completed: On Time
Runtime: 2 Months
After justifying with senior leadership to retire instead of upgrading the existing Exchange Server the approval for OP/EX was granted to move all email services to M365 (Exchange Online). This project was very straight forward, with all the data restaged with continual deltas and data integrity tasks ran during the migration. The final cutover was seamless with the help of a custom PowerShell script pushed out to user utilizing PSEXEC to automatically clean up their old OST and Email configuration and setup the new local on Exchange Online
New Rack and Patch Panel Install including wire management
Completed: On Time
Runtime: 2 Months
When joining SII the MDFs and IDFs were in shambles. I worked with my manager at the time to develop a project with minimal cost to properly setup freestanding racks and cabinets with cable management. The state of the rooms were such that switches were laying on the ground in production. I used my skills to install cabinets and racks plus properly organize all cabling for 5 MDF's and 3 IDF's
